FROM COMMUNITY BUILDER TO PUBLIC SERVANT

Image
Dr. Thomas Attah of yesterday.  In every community, there are individuals who quietly dedicate their time, resources, and energy to improving the lives of others without seeking applause. They understand that true leadership is not about holding a title but about making a meaningful difference. Dr. Thomas Attah is one of those individuals studied and seen.  Long before expressing interest in public office, Thomas Attah had already established himself as a committed advocate and community development practitioner. His passion has always been centred on people, particularly young men and women who needed encouragement, guidance, and opportunities to pursue their dreams. Over the years, he has supported youths through educational assistance, mentorship, skills development, career guidance, and empowerment and community infrastructures. Many who once lacked hope have gone on to become successful entrepreneurs, skilled professionals, and responsible citizens because someone believe...

ANCIENT AND MODERN OF OSOSO HOSPITALITY

Image
Nestled with the rolling highlands of Akoko-Edo in Edo state, the town stands as a quiet but compelling testimony to how tradition and modern tourism can coexist. Widely known as the "Home of Hospitality and Tourism," Ososo offers more than scenic beauty. It presents a living story of cultural depth seamlessly blended with evolving visitors experiences.  Long before Ososo became a destination for hikers and explorers, it was a tightly knit community defined by its customs, leadership, and communal life. The town is traditionally organized into quarters, each playing a role in maintaining social order and cultural identity. At the helm is the Onyani’ Ososo, the revered king whose authority symbolizes unity and continuity Hospitality in ancient Ososo was not a business, it was a duty. Visitors were received not as customers but as guests of the community. Food was shared, stories were told, and shelter was offered freely. This deep-rooted culture of welcome still forms the bac...

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY

Image
I'm recommitting my UBUNTU lifestyle I like to share with us the UBUNTU story lifestyle of mine as I thought part of what my next phase of life should be while standing outdoor. UBUNTU is a very nice story from Africa. The motivation behind Ubuntu culture started when an anthropologist proposed a game to the African tribal children.  He placed a basket of sweets near a tree and made the children stand 100metres away. Then, he announced that whoever reaches where the sweets are kept first would get all the sweets in the basket. When he said 'ready, steady go!'....... Do you know what the children did? They all held each other's hands and ran together towards the tree, they got to the destination together at same time. Then divided the sweets within themselves and enjoyed together..... Shocked by the anthropologist, he asked them why they did so, they answered...... "UBUNTU." Implying "How can one be happy and the others are sad?" UBUNTU means- ...

YOU ARE CURRENTLY LIVING AT LEAST, ONE OF THE PRAYERS YOU USE TO PRAY FOR.

Image
I was thinking about how life has delt with me, the pressures I've passed through, opportunities I missed, how things got messed up with me and I almost forgot there's something called hope. In the process, I got a shared quote for the focus of this article. I thought about my failures and felt almost ashamed of my past that was questionable, laughable and ofcause sweet able. Upon these thoughts there was hope of glory. Different questions sprang up. Why all these? Most funny enough, these were adversities that seems difficult but triumph able. The approaches I took about them were not suitable for each and thereby made me not get the light after the ugly darkness challenges.                             Isaac A. Osheku Again, I thought and asked another series of questions. Why don't I think of the days I succeeded? Why don't I think of the days I passed my trials? Each day of these happenstances came different...

DEAR MOTHERS

Image
On this Mothering Sunday, I write to you cherish mothers, to everyone out there as a mother, I seek and honor you for your impact in our lives as children/offsprings and husband gathered in the world. I looked inward to what a mother is, I concluded you are priceless. Being a female parent of a child/children. One who inhabit or perform the role of bearing some relation to your children, who or may not be your biological offsprings as I am to many of you. A caregiver and unconditional love giver, housekeeper, cooker, baker, home builder, world leader, taxi driver, psychologist, doctor of our homes, and disciplinarian. You are such a great and undeniable gift to us. A lot of person believed that mother is any woman who gives birth to child. However, it is important to note that you as our mothers come in different form. Your actions as mothers reflect and influence us in divers way and places in the world. When the society expects you to influence your children morally, academical...

LIFE, A GAIN OR LOSS? When we finally stop breathing, what next? - Isaac A. Osheku

Image
Life, when we finally stop breathing, what next? Today, I like to abraise you with life and issues that matters. Matters that revolves around us that seems mere but mind blowing and essential in our living. Life as seen over the years is the aspect of existence that processes, acts, reacts, evaluates, and evolves through growth (reproduction and metabolism). The crucial difference between life and non-life (or non-living things) is that life uses energy for physical and conscious development. Life is anything that grows and eventually dies, that is, it ceases to proliferate and be cognizant. Can we say that viruses, for example, are cognizant? Yes, insofar as they react to stimuli; but they are alive essentially because they reproduce and grow. There's a bordering question I like to ask you. What is life to you outside the given definition? What is your take about life and all that matters and happens around it. Your take about it determine the kind of human you are at this po...

WHAT IS YOUR STRENGTH FOR HUMANITY? : Isaac A. Osheku

Image
Hey friends, I bring you greetings this season. A great pleasure to congratulate you for the opportunity you have to read this. Guess what? That's because you are alive. Someone somewhere somehow needs this opportunity but struggling with it. Possibly because of lack of fortune or otherwise that humanity may have failed them. I like to get you close to consider our collective efforts to humanity. From our neighborhood to the populace and global view. The human race which includes everyone on Earth is humanity. It’s also a word for the qualities that make us human, such as the ability to love and have compassion, be creative, and not be a robot or alien.... I need to ask you a quick question. What's the quality that makes you a human? That you have hands, eyes, can walk and other physical features? No, not that! What makes you a human is simply your act, your way of life, how you treat people. You are either human or inhumane. The former is positive while the later is obversely ...

Why Do We Say/Write Rest In Peace And Not Live In Peace?

Image
Often times we see obituaries of others, we write or say 'rest in peace.' It has become a common epitaph. We wish them rest in peace when they are gone. We never thought of how we lived with them when they were alive with us. Do we ever give them peace of mind? Osheku A ISAAC Living in peace is about living harmoniously with ourselves, others, and all sentient beings around us. While we will find out our own meanings of peaceful existence and outward manifestations of a peaceful life according to our beliefs and lifestyles, there are some basics underpinnin living in peace that cannot be overlooked, such as being non-violent, being tolerant, holding moderate views, and celebrating others, celebrating wondrous-life and positivities. It's a journey and way of life that ultimately only us can be responsible for, it can be learned....... Understand that living in peace is both an inward and outward process. We live in peace with ourselves and others. Inwardly, each of us need t...

Matters Arising After Attempt To Sort APC Crisis

Image
Matters Arising After Attempt To Sort APC Crisis .......The Inauguration Of Edo State Assembly .......Who Take The Lead? © Osheku A. Isaac Politics has become so expensive that it takes a lot of money even to be defeated in the process. The state of Edo now is sacrifices in a contemptible struggle. There are matters arising after attempt to sort the All Progressive Congress- APC crisis at the national level. Again, the Edo state house is not left out of the bad omen and the state political malady rocking the assembly. An assembly that has no opposition party which aught to be calm and united in pursuit of good union but the reverse  is the case in this subject. It should be recalled that representatives represents various constituencies and as such, there's ultimate need to function in the capacity in which these constituencies elected their representatives. Over the years, Edo state has been known for peace but recent happenstances  are NOT pleasant to the he...

INFORMATION FROM CREDIBLE SOURCE ABOUT COVID - 19 LOCKDOWN

Image
INFORMATION FROM CREDIBLE SOURCE ABOUT COVID - 19 LOCKDOWN Note: This Is An Excerpt From World Trends I think you need to patiently read through. A lot is happening underground. I want you to know that the Covid-19 isn't really an unknown disease as the World appears to be unaware of this deadly killer disease. First thing to note is that viruses from our little knowledge of biology isn't a living thing until it's in a host's body. Higher scientific research shows that viruses do not exist in nature (God didn't create viruses). Viruses are man-m ade. If viruses are man-made as scientific research shows where did SARS & Corona viruses come from? The Big Question???? They were created by man. Why??? Why Covid-19*? Have you heard of the NWO??? THE NEW WORLD ORDER* (ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT - ONE WORLD ECONOMY - ONE WORLD RELIGION)... That's the why? And you ask how? Don't think am just talking because these are facts on the internet but individuals ar...

DISRUPTING DECAMPEE RALLIES IS NOT AN OPTION TO WINNING 2ND TERM

Image
DISRUPTING DECAMPEE RALLIES IS NOT AN OPTION TO WINNING 2ND TERM © Osheku A. Isaac When you have an opposition joining your party, you r ejoice and be glad but the case of Edo state APC is sadly different as members defecting from other parties are not welcomed. There are instances of different occasion were brutal happenstances took shape of welcome rallies organized to welcome decampees, first was the case of Pastor Ize-Iyamo who defected from the People's Democratic Party- PDP, the rally organized in the city of Benin to welcome him was reportedly disturbed by hoodlums while the state government struggled high to stop the rally from being held. It is sad that a ruling government cannot welcome people coming into the party for growth. This, I assumed to be fear of the unknown- the mighty fear. Edo state as it stand today has no opposition party member in the state house but it happens to be the most troubled state among the 36 states in Nigeria. This is most likely ...
Ososo-Opkella Road: The Promises Of Obaseki, the time is here. © Osheku A. Isaac There is a common slogan in the coterie of the people of Edo state "The Developmental Strides of Obaseki" which has predominantly been perceived to be untrue as promises made are being kept underneath the forgotten files. Before and now, a lot of promises has been made, all stipulated in ensuring the construction of Ososo-Opkella road but the underneath forgotten files has been the receiver of these promises. The last recognized and believed to be truism is the assurance given by Governor Obaseki on June 30th. Assuring the people of Ososo and Opkella that work will commence on the road at the end of raining season (2019). This, he disclosed during a reception held in honor of late Mr. Eugene Attach in Ososo, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo state, Father of Tony Attah (MD NLNG). Stating that the road is being designed already.  https://www.google.com/search?q=oobaseki+promise+constr...

Just in: JAMB suspends NIM as prerequisite for registration

Image
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended the use of the National Identification Number for registration for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME. The registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede, who stated this while briefing journalists in Abuja on Saturday, said the move was to provide more time for candidates to get their national identification numbers. He said the suspension was also to address the technical challenges experienced at some centres. He asked candidates to disregard the use of NIN for the 2020 registration and strictly comply with other procedures for the registration. He however said that JAMB will consider the use of NIMC for 2021 exams. The board last year said from 2020, candidates will register for its examinations with their national ID numbera to solve the challenges of multiple registration. ©premiumtimesng.com
