DISRUPTING DECAMPEE RALLIES IS NOT AN OPTION TO WINNING 2ND TERM © Osheku A. Isaac When you have an opposition joining your party, you r ejoice and be glad but the case of Edo state APC is sadly different as members defecting from other parties are not welcomed. There are instances of different occasion were brutal happenstances took shape of welcome rallies organized to welcome decampees, first was the case of Pastor Ize-Iyamo who defected from the People's Democratic Party- PDP, the rally organized in the city of Benin to welcome him was reportedly disturbed by hoodlums while the state government struggled high to stop the rally from being held. It is sad that a ruling government cannot welcome people coming into the party for growth. This, I assumed to be fear of the unknown- the mighty fear. Edo state as it stand today has no opposition party member in the state house but it happens to be the most troubled state among the 36 states in Nigeria. This is most likely

Isaac There is a common slogan in the coterie of the people of Edo state "The Developmental Strides of Obaseki" which has predominantly been perceived to be untrue as promises made are being kept underneath the forgotten files. Before and now, a lot of promises has been made, all stipulated in ensuring the construction of Ososo-Opkella road but the underneath forgotten files has been the receiver of these promises. The last recognized and believed to be truism is the assurance given by Governor Obaseki on June 30th. Assuring the people of Ososo and Opkella that work will commence on the road at the end of raining season (2019). This, he disclosed during a reception held in honor of late Mr. Eugene Attach in Ososo, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo state, Father of Tony Attah (MD NLNG). FRESH FIRE OUTBREAK IN LAGOS

  Panic as vandalised pipeline explodes in Lagos Pandemonium broke around Ekoro area, Abule-Egba, Lagos, as pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation exploded in the area. The fire erupted after some vandals allegedly ruptured the pipeline in a bid to scoop fuel. Though, the estimated value of the properties lost to the incident could not be ascertained but sources said several millions of naira have been lost already. Just in: JAMB suspends NIM as prerequisite for registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended the use of the National Identification Number for registration for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME. The registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede, who stated this while briefing journalists in Abuja on Saturday, said the move was to provide more time for candidates to get their national identification numbers. He said the suspension was also to address the technical challenges experienced at some centres. He asked candidates to disregard the use of NIN for the 2020 registration and strictly comply with other procedures for the registration. He however said that JAMB will consider the use of NIMC for 2021 exams. The board last year said from 2020, candidates will register for its examinations with their national ID numbera to solve the challenges of multiple registration. ©premiumtimesng.com
